When creating the AI-enhanced version of my resume, I used this prompt: Create an alternate version of this resume tailored for the finance and marketing industries. The alternate version should show how the original resumes skills and experiences could be reframed for a specific role or industry. After I got the AI version I compared it with the original one, and the main differences I noticed were that the AI one added a lot more complexity and buzzwords to the details of my past work experiences, making them sound more accomplished and meaningful. The AI version also added more skills than I originally had, it also just described the skills instead of presenting how I use them. While experimenting with my prompt, I learned how important prompt engineering is. You have to be specific with your instructions and give it context, constraints, and clear examples for the best result. You can’t be vague and expect a excellent answer or improvement, it will only do as told and won’t interpret what you aren’t explicitly saying.
